hi Scott,
I am about to start my fatloss diet,my current bodyfat percentage is 11,8% and I am hoping to drop to 5-6%.Do you think I should go with some ketogenic diet which many recommend or take some anticatabolic aminos like glutamine or BCAA and just lower my carbs, and what products would you recomend?I usually don’t take any supplements offseason except of whey, multimineral and chromium(to keep me relatively lean while bulking up)I used to take aminos while dieting (dymatize BCAA) and manage to get shreded but tend to lose too much muscle in the process anyway:I would drop from 95kg to 83 and my muscles would lose roundness and get flat.I do moderate cardio and keep low raps and heavy weights even on low calories but cut down workout time.thanks, keep up a good work.
I’d advise you to just drop your carbs. Doing the ketogenic fat loss method can be dangerous and it’s very difficult to get into a ketogenic state.
Just have a small amount of carbs for breakfast then lower carbs in your next meal and then cut carbs out completely.
Increase your protein intake so that you don’t drop too much muscle mass. Also make sure you’re getting plenty of l-glutamine (about 25-30g per day) and plenty of BCAA’s (I use the dymatize ones too).
Do your cardio first thing in the morning as soon as you get out of bed before you eat. At this time you’ll burn fat 300% faster. The other time to do cardio is immediately after a weights session because you’ll burn fat 200% faster at this time.
Drink black coffee or a fat burner (maybe even l-carnitine) before your cardio and training sessions.
