How to Build Leg Muscle
Building your muscle is a gradual and slow process which requires determinations, stamina and strength. For building muscle you have to develop these three things. All the extra fats have to be burnt out for building muscles.
Some people concentrate on certain areas for building muscle. But for a good figure each muscle should be given its own important. Leg muscles have importance in its on way. The whole body’s weight is taken by the legs. Therefore it is important to keep the legs muscle strong. Generally leg muscles are classified into thighs and calf.
Thigh muscles is a combination of quadriceps muscle, vastus muscle, vastus medialis, recuts femoris, hamstring muscles and biceps femoris. There are many exercises for building thigh muscles. Starting from free squat; It is the basic exercise for thigh muscles. This work out is done by standing straight on the leg, keeping the leg shoulder width apart. Inhale in and squat till thighs are parallel to ground and back straight and during this process exhale out. Come back to the starting position by inhaling in. Care must be taken that knee is not locked. Squat can be done by adding weights. When weights are used it is advisable to use a back support for protection.
Front leg extension, concentrate on vastus lateralis, which is the largest thigh muscle. It is done by sitting on a leg extension machine. Add weights on the rod of the machine; take a deep breath lock both the feet under the foot lifter and raise the leg by exhaling. Hold the leg parallel to ground for five second and move down slowly. Back extension is done on the same machine. Here the calf muscle is supported on the upper foot rest of the machine. Take a deep breath and pull the foot rest till the feet touches on the buttocks by exhaling. Hold it there for five second and bring it to the starting position by inhaling.
Workout for the calf muscle is done by balancing the body on the toes over a bar. Extend and contract the calf muscle by moving the body up and down on the toes. No pain no gain. Fight all the hardship you find in building the body and stay healthy with great shape.
