Vegetarian Bodybuilding - Is It Possible To Make Sizable Muscle Gains?

Filed Under (Bodybuilding Diet, Nutrition) by Dane on 29-02-2008

A vegetarian bodybuilding is not an unattainable task. Moreover, the vegetarian food gives a better impact to remain healthy. A real vegetarian diet comprises a great deal of focus and discipline. Exercise regime cannot be avoided in this measure.

There are pseudo-vegetarians, meat vegetarians, and vegetarians.  The first group is the ones who avoid beef, chicken and poultry. Instead, the diet will include fish. Pseudo-vegetarians are not refrained from consuming other animal products. A meat vegetarian will not go for eating meat. Vegetarians will not select any foods that are of animal products.

The major difference between these groups is based on the diet. Bodybuilders always increase protein intake. Microscopic damage to the tissue is caused on exercising the muscles. The body tends to repair damages with larger and stronger tissues at rest.

Greater intake of protein is necessary for such a healing procedure. The vegetarians attain this as they consume more protein food. Many have a misconception that protein is highly received from meat. Soy has been proved superior to beef.

Amino acids are essential for the body to grow and repair muscles. Soy consists of eight of these essential amino acids. Vegetarian bodybuilders usually consider soy as a primary source of protein. Glutamine is also there in Soy that is taken in the form of supplements.

Soy is available in different forms such as tofu, miso, soy powder and soymilk. This is the only food supplement that can replace cow's milk. Soymilk recipes assist in the expansion of the basic food options.

Almonds, sunflower seeds, walnuts and pistachio nuts are also rich in protein content. The most important thing is that these foods contain good fats. Therefore, it is ideal for a vegetarian meal. Large quantity of vitamins and minerals are also necessary.

Bodybuilders usually take a handful of supplements like B12, which is generally an animal product based vitamin. Vegetarian bodybuilding is much easier than the ordinary ones. Competitors display their shaped muscle bodies in this sport.

They normally intend on hard exercises to build muscle. Today, athletes and sportsmen all over the world have moved to vegetarianism. Carl Lewis, Martina Navratilova, Billie Jean King and Edwin Moses are great examples of proven vegetarian sportsmen. It is actually a lifestyle mainly focusing on a healthier diet.

Planned exercise is to be followed along with a nutritious diet. Supplements have not proved that effective. Instead, they tend to be addictive. Fat burners will give a trim body, but will later cause many health problems. These are some of the reasons many great personalities have turned to vegetarian diets.

Its obvious that whenever people think of bodybuilding for women they often think of women with massive muscles that just try to look like male bodybuilders. But the fact is something different. Women’s bodybuilding is far more than just trying to have large muscles, it is more about having a complete sculpted body that looks natural but ultra toned at the same time.

Men produce a lot of testosterone that women simply don’t have. This enables men to grow larger muscles than women. So women bodybuilders will always be smaller in stature than the men. Some women result to taking testosterone supplements to increase their levels and to grow their muscles larger. These can have certain side effects though and should be fully researched before choosing them as an option. Women bodybuilding is increasing dramatically in popularity because it is a great way for woman to lose weight, get fit, and look great.

Even though women can’t physically grow muscles as large as men, it doesn’t mean that they don’t train as hard. They must stick to a strict regime of diet and fitness to ensure their bodies look just the way they want to. This can be said for women bodybuilding competitions also. They put in just as much work before competitions as men do.

Women's bodies are naturally more slender and more cardio work or aerobic work helps them to achieve their very slender bodies. It is more than just lifting weights especially for women. They follow the same dieting regime as men do also. High crab and high protein diets allow the muscles to grow with the intense training. Filed Under (Blog) by Dane on 14-02-2008

Hey Guys,

I'm currently writing a book about bodybuilding. It includes sections on diets for muscle gain and fat loss, workouts, motivation help, my recommendations on supplements and it's about half done so far. It's a fully comprehensive book that takes you the reader through all the steps of bodybuilding and teaches some shortcuts and tips that you wont hear unless you've been training for a long time.

If you want a free copy of the book which is going to be sold for $67 then please give me some idea's of what I can add to the course that would be valuable to you. What is your biggest questions about anything to do with bodybuilding? How can I make it easier to understand, or add in extra information that you think would improve the book.

All you have to do is leave a comment after this post (or email me at info [at] bodybuilding-guru.com) with your advice or tips for the book. Once the book is finished in about 2 weeks time I'll send you a free copy to review and ask for your help with the final touches.

Thanks very much for your help and I hope to be hearing from you soon!

All the best,

Dane
